For as long as I can remember I had been overweight, I was chubby when I was in primary school and slowly got bigger through high school. I was a prime target for school yard taunting because of my size which had me hating waking up each morning for school.

I won’t say I was ever happy with the way I looked but I never used to let people see how much their words hurt me. I had tried random dieting and exercise but nothing ever really worked for me, so I just figured that I would have to make do with what I’ve got.

I have always loved playing sport whether it be a competitive sport like netball or softball or just for fun. But I could see and feel my weight holding me back from my full potential. I would have to stop part through a quarter of netball because I would need to use my asthma inhaler or I would sprain my ankles because they could not take my weight and I just couldn’t keep up with all the other players. I stopped having fun because I would just get so angry and frustrated at myself because I knew deep down I could perform so much better.

When I got to my heaviest weight I hated the way I looked 100%. I found myself pulling away from my friends and hated the idea of going out in public. I didn’t attend my friend’s deb balls or even my year 12 graduation, I just hid myself away from it all.

Going clothes shopping was a nightmare for me. All the clothes I liked were never in my size and I when I would try on the biggest size in the store and find out I couldn’t do up the fly or get the top to cover my stomach without clinging to me, I would get so angry and upset that I would snap at my family and them leave the store almost in tears.

I had seen all the ads and heard so many positive comments about SureSlim and how well it worked, but I never really believed in myself to actually think it was something I could do. Then I got to the stage where I was “so over” being overweight and had to do something about it. So when I had a morning off work I decided to head down to SureSlim and get some information. Taylor and Zack were so welcoming and understanding at SureSlim and I could tell that they genuinely wanted to help me reach my goal and be happy again.

Now that I have lost 30kgs and 86cm in around 22 weeks, Ive finally found the happy person I used to be a long time ago. I can hold my head up high and put all those terrible names from high school behind me.

All the energy I have is overwhelming. I’m finally having fun again when I play netball, I can run around so much easier now that I don’t have that extra weight on me, and I almost never need to use my inhaler which is such a blessing.

It feels so good to walk into a store and know that I will find something I like and that will fit me and walk out feeling refreshed instead of stressed.

I’ve opened myself back up to my friends and I can go out with them and have fun and not be paranoid that everyone is staring for all the wrong reasons. I missed my friends when I was bigger but now I feel like I have found them all over again.

I am only young and hiding away from the world was no way to live. SureSlim has helped me regain my life back and I’m so glad that now I’m finally living it.
