Dr Vial - Introduction
My name is Dr. Robert Vial. I am the medical doctor at SureSlim in Australia. I am a full time medical practitioner and have been working in general practice for the past 15 years. I also have a degree in Medical Science and have a special interest in obesity, nutrition medicine and the metabolic syndrome. I am also committed to increasing my knowledge on nutritional medicine. Presently, I am furthering my education with the RMIT University, Melbourne, post-graduate course on Master of Nutrition Medicine. I am also a member of the Australian Society for the Study of Obesity (ASSO). I have given medical presentations on obesity, including the GPCE Sydney.
I have worked for SureSlim since it first opened in 2001. My role at SureSlim is the analysis of clients' blood tests, educating staff and answering clinical questions from the clinics. I also audit weight loss and blood test results in order to continually monitor the success of the SureSlim program.
SureSlim began in 1996. It started as a company that helped clients with weight loss, by analyzing their blood results, medical conditions and lifestyle factors, and compiling a specific, individual and nutritional program for each client. This central idea has not changed. However, over the time I have been with SureSlim, more medical and obesity research has been published in the scientific literature, and our clients benefit from this additional information, as their programs reflect this further research. SureSlim has grown since those early days, and not only do we continue to focus on weight loss in order to address the ever increasing problem of obesity in our society, but we also have been able to explore ways of improving the nutrition and wellness of our clients. We are committed to updating and improving the way we deliver the latest medical research in obesity.
We help our clients reduce their weight. Once they achieve this weight loss, they are started on a maintenance program. Our results speak for themselves and many clients relate the positive lifestyle changes of their reduced weight.
When a client enrols onto the SureSlim program, we request that they provide details of any significant medical history, their medications (including herbal preparations) and food likes and dislikes as well as allergies. The program is individualised according to these parameters.
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Robert Vial

Dr Denby - Introduction
My name is Dr. Martin Denby. I am the medical doctor at SureSlim New Zealand. I am a full time medical practitioner and have been working in general practice for the past nine years.
I have a degree in Biochemistry Nutrition and have a special interest in wellness, preventative medicine and obesity treatment research.
My role at SureSlim is analysis of client’s blood tests, educating staff and answering clinical questions from the clinics on a daily basis. I also audit weight loss and blood test results in order to continually monitor the success of the SureSlim program.
Before I joined SureSlim I did my due diligence to make sure SureSlim was a weight loss program based on sound principles. I researched the principles of the program, read all the literature and analysed the audit data. I was impressed. Our emphasis is on healthy eating and lifestyle change. SureSlim does not use pills, "wonder shakes" or pre-packaged meals.
The SureSlim diet concept has been well researched and draws upon a number of different ideas about weight loss and nutrition. Low glycaemic index foods, low saturated fat foods, fruits, vegetables and seeds are all incorporated to compile a healthy and nutritionally balanced diet, while still allowing the client to lose weight. The diet does not count calories; rather it looks at the nutritional content of the food, and is formulated to help the client see the value of eating healthy food. This is a lifestyle change. Many clients have the Metabolic Syndrome. The diet aims to address this problem and helps correct impaired carbohydrate metabolism.
